Due to an ongoing dispute between the Australian federal government and Facebook this morning, Australian news sites have been removed from the platform.
This is a response to proposed laws that will force tech companies to pay for news content.
Unfortunately, Aussievision was also involved in this action.
The Aussievision Facebook page is now blank for viewers both in Australia and overseas, and content cannot be shared from our site.
Aussievision is not a company or organization and does not monetize our content.
The site and its social media channels are run by a group of volunteers who want to bring an Australian commentary to Eurovision for Australian fans and cannot benefit from any agreement between the Australian government and Facebook.
There are many great Eurovision fan sites out there, but what we always want to do is to connect Australians to certain news about them. Whether it’s the time, how to watch the competition and national finals, exclusive news about Australian artists or from broadcaster SBS.
SBS Eurovision and SBS News have also been removed from the platform. Additionally, many nonprofits, charities, and government agencies were also blocked on Facebook.
We have many other channels for fans to access our content through Google, Twitter, Instagram and Podcast, but Facebook is where our viewers are most Australian.
We hope this will be resolved and our Facebook page is back on. But in the meantime, we hope that those who like our content will continue to support us:
