Scots singer interrupted by police during Facebook Live performance after reports of house party

Police interrupted her during an online performance after a Scottish singer was told she was partying.

Marion Tillbrook was in full swing singing The Carpenters’ Rainy Days and Mondays when she was six years old on Facebook Live. police Officers stole his apartment in Edinburgh on Friday.

He told Edinburgh Live: “I was singing Rainy Days and Mondays by the Carpenters when the police crackled at my window. I went to get the door and there were six people there.

“This is not the kind of thing you would hear at a house party. I was not wearing Bits n Pieces.

“Frankly, someone with a bee on his hood reported that I was throwing a house party, so the police had to come and check all the cabinets and everything.

“They were just great when they realized I was singing. They said they were happy to continue as long as I watched the sound.”

Marion mentioned that her weekly Facebook Live shows gave her some normality during touch lock.

“I’ve been a singer for 20 years, but like everyone else in the industry, I can’t work because of Covid.

“These Facebook Live shows gave me some normality. This is something I can dress up and it allows me to do what I love to do. I set up a PayPal so people can add a little tip if they want.

“But now I’ll stop. I don’t want the police to come to my door every week. This is discouraging.

“Everyone on the ladder is totally fine with that. I don’t bother anyone. I gave them my full number so they can call me if they have a problem, but I noticed them all and they don’t ‘have a problem.

“The problem is that there are people out there who really throw house parties, I know they are. Yet people have a problem trying to do something positive for my society.”

Police said at 22:25 on Friday that they were summoned to Dickson Street after news of a meeting but left after realizing that there were no parties.

A spokesperson said: “Around 225 pm on Friday, January 22nd, police were summoned to report a meeting at an address in Dickson Street, Edinburgh.

“Officers attended and confirmed that there was no meeting. The landlord was advised.”
