Kentucky Wild Cats They entered Saturday in desperate need of a win. LSU Tigers In Rupp Arena.
The cats got off to a great start, taking a 19-9 lead with just under 14 minutes in the middle.
The entire first half could be the best half this team has played in the entire season, pulling the gap to 32-17 in the under-8 media break.
The perfect half scored the most points in a half this season, leading to the locker room 49-36.
The start of the second half was tough for the Cats, as LSU cut the lead 54-49, forcing Kentucky to take a break.
In the second consecutive match, the Cats had a good performance from BJ Boston and it was he who refueled the Cats after the break.
He handed over a series of properties that allowed Kentucky to return to 64-51 with 10 minutes to play.
The Tigers ran once again with six minutes to go, increasing the score to 71-63.
However, the Cats were able to answer the call once again and took control of the game on the way to 82-69 win.
Here’s how Twitter reacted to the game:
Kentucky’s beginnings against LSU: Devin Askew, Davion Mintz, BJ Boston, Keion Brooks, and Olivier Sarr.

Kentucky must lead the nation in offensive rebounds that surrender from missed free throws.

I love the fact that we have games like this! Showing signs of hope
– Dylan Ballard (@DylanBallard_UK) 24 January 2021
Kentucky scored 49 points in one half

Like Dontaie Allen and BJ Boston on the ground at the same time

Boston drowns and takes the personal. Classical.

Isaiah Jackson “” easily leads the team in games.

Say what you want but Kentucky’s best 5-9 basketball team ever
– Cam Cheuvront (@ CChevs83) 24 January 2021
What if you told me that Devin Askew would play 33 goalless minutes and would go 0 from 3 to 5 and Kentucky would beat LSU by 15 or 18? I have no chance to buy this.

Double foul is the referee code for “I didn’t really see it and I don’t know what else to do”.
– Matt Jones (@KySportsRadio) 24 January 2021
If only Reid Travis had reciprocated the favor that BJ just received.

It’s always fun to beat Will Wade!

Shame, Kentucky’s season * this * is close to an interesting resume. There are already wins against Florida and LSU, and it’s literally three games away from beating Louisville, Notre Dame and Georgia and sitting at 8-6 overall. It’s not great. But man, how different can it be

It’s so fun, I’m happy to see these young people win. Tuesday will be tough but I’ll travel with them until they die! #BBN

Kentucky scored 80 points for the first time since they played against Morehead State in Game 1 of the season.

Boston looked much better but also the team has improved a lot in what we tackle … spins, free throws, assists / sharing the ball, diving …
– Jen (@JenUKFan) 24 January 2021
Good win by @Films This night! I’m glad BJ Boston got his job together and showed what kind of player he really is. A record 0-0 mentality from here. Night 1-0. Enjoy, get some rest, put your ears back and get back to business! #BBN

Congratulations on coaching Cal and BBN for their win against LSU.

Brandon Boston Jr. first 12 games: 11.5 points, 35 FG, 1.9 TO / game
Last two games: 18 points, 43 FG, 0.5 TO / game

An absolutely perfect win for Kentucky against a VERY good team. I will continue to believe that this team has a chance until the end of the season. Too much ability to think otherwise.
– Brandon Ramsey (@BRamseyKSR) 24 January 2021
Isaiah Jackson scored 15 rebounds in 16 minutes. Whatever BJ Boston did for the rest of the year, it wouldn’t surprise me that Jackson was the first Wildcat to hear his name in the 2021 NBA Draft.
